MSV members visited the Alan Shearer Foundation recently, to meet the man himself after making a donation to one of his fundraising competitions. Whilst our entry was part of a partnership with another school (King Edward VI, Morpeth) so we didn't win anything ourselves, we all had a great time and are pleased to have helped such a worthwhile cause. The Mortimer Student Voice (MSV) have recently participated in a meeting during which possible changes to the lunchtime options were discussed. A number of changes were discussed, and a series of questionaires will be sent to all students to ask for your opinions. Change is happening!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, the Student Voice Head Boy/Girl vote for school year 2012/2013 is now, officially, closed. The vote count is already scheduled and the announcement is just around the corner. The Mayor of South Tyneside, Cllr Eileen Leask, will be making the announcement, which will be broadcast via a live video feed and will be accessible to all form classes in school. We will also be visited by students from King Edward VI School, Morpeth, with whom we have been associating for support and guidance in setting up our own Student Voice. Good luck to all of the candidates!!!
On the 19th through 23rd of November, Student Voice took the assembly, and proved to the world that teachers are up for some fun - Gangnamming! Unfortunately, there are no plans to make the video public, however we're sure it will stick in everyone's mind for at least the next few weeks. HUGE credit for the video must go to Mr Boyle, as his editing work on our video basically made it, and whilst we struggled he was a 'knight in shining armour' to help us and produce a fantastic video. Thanks!
